The calculators, generators, and formulations on this site are educational tools built to give you accurate starting points, not finished answers. They are based on standard industry math, published material properties, and our own bench experience. Real-world results vary with your specific wax, fragrance oils, vessels, wicks, ambient temperature, pour technique, and equipment. A calculator can tell you that a 9 percent fragrance load in 400 grams of wax is 36 grams of oil; it cannot tell you whether your particular wax will hold it, whether your wick will burn it cleanly, or whether the throw will be what you want. Only testing tells you that.
Candles are consumer products involving open flame. Before selling any candle, you are responsible for full burn testing: wick sizing across the entire burn, melt pool behavior, container temperature, and end-of-burn safety. You are also responsible for appropriate warning labels and for following the standards that apply in your market, including relevant ASTM standards in the United States and CLP labeling requirements if you sell in the EU or UK. The safety label generator on this site helps you format a label; it does not replace your obligation to verify that your label content meets the rules that apply to you.
Pricing tools and business guidance reflect common practice and our own experience. They are not financial, legal, or tax advice, and no outcome is guaranteed. Margins that work for one maker in one market may not work for another. Treat every number this site gives you as a starting point to check against your own costs and your own customers. The site name describes an approach to treating candle making as a real business; it is not a promise of income, and we make no earnings claims.
Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you purchase through them at no additional cost to you. This includes participation in the Amazon Associates program and supplier partner programs. We only link to products and suppliers we would use ourselves, and affiliate status never changes a recommendation. The full policy is in the affiliate disclosure.
We work hard to keep reference data current, including wax properties, carrier rules, and marketplace fee structures used in the calculators, and we correct errors when we find them or when readers report them. Fee schedules and third-party policies change without notice, so always verify against the current source before making decisions that depend on them. If you spot something wrong, please tell us; reader reports have already made these tools better.
