Listing price minus Etsy fees, processing, ads, and your cost of goods. Toggle ads, edit fee rates as Etsy changes them.
Etsy's fees come out of your revenue in several separate bites, and sellers who price without adding them up almost always discover their margin was imaginary. This calculator stacks the listing fee, transaction fee, payment processing, and optional Offsite Ads fee against your price and cost, and shows what you actually keep per candle, in dollars and as a margin percentage.
As of this writing, Etsy charges a listing fee per item, a transaction fee calculated on the item price plus shipping, and a payment processing fee with both a percentage and a fixed component that varies by country. If a sale is attributed to Offsite Ads, an additional percentage applies, and it is mandatory above a revenue threshold. Fees change, and the calculator's values are kept current, but always sanity-check against Etsy's published fee schedule before repricing your whole shop.
Say a candle sells for 28 dollars with 6 dollars shipping charged to the buyer, and your all-in cost to make and ship it is 14 dollars. The transaction and processing fees are calculated on the full 34 dollars the buyer pays, not just the item price, which is the detail that surprises most new sellers.
Run the same numbers with an Offsite Ads attribution and watch several more dollars leave; if that pushes a product underwater, the price was too low to begin with.
Nothing is free; free shipping means the shipping cost lives inside the item price. Etsy's search tends to favor free-shipping listings in some markets, so many sellers build it in. Either way, the calculator wants your true total cost including postage, and the buyer's total including any shipping charge.
For handmade candles sold direct, most sustainable sellers land somewhere above 50 percent gross margin after fees. Below that, wholesale becomes impossible and one supply price increase eats your profit. The candle pricing calculator works this from the cost side; this tool checks it from the Etsy side.
