When you blend two or more fragrance oils into one scent, the math gets fiddly fast: you are holding a total fragrance load steady while splitting it into ratio parts, in a batch measured by wax weight. This calculator takes the batch size, the overall load percentage, and your blend ratio, and gives you the exact weight of each oil so the blend comes out identical every time you make it.
If a blend is 3 parts cedar to 1 part vanilla, cedar takes three quarters of the total oil weight and vanilla one quarter. Simple with two oils, error-prone at three or four, which is exactly when consistency matters most.
You are pouring 1,000 grams of wax at an 8 percent load with a blend of 2 parts bergamot, 2 parts fir, 1 part amber. Total oil is 80 grams, and the ratio has five parts, so each part is 16 grams:

Blend them first in a separate container. It lets you smell and adjust the blend before committing a whole batch of wax, and premixed oil disperses more evenly at pour temperature.
Yes. Flashpoints and viscosities vary, and some oils throw harder than others at the same percentage, so a ratio that smells right in the bottle may need adjusting after a burn test.
